How Long Should Sex Last?
According to a survey by United States and Canadian Sex Therapists, sex doesn't have to last as long as you may think to be "satisfactory". So are the people who talk about "going all night long" lying?
Researchers from Penn State University (Eric Corty and Jenay Guardiani) spoke to Sex Therapy and Research members. These members were professionals (physicians, therapists, nurses, psychologists, etc.) who have seen thousands of patients over their years working.
The results of the survey were as follows for sexual intercourse (penetration to ejaculation):
- 1-2 Minutes: Too Short
- 3 - 7 Minutes: Adequate
- 7 - 13 Minutes: Desireable
- 10 - 13 Minutes: Too Long
The survey was published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.
